Thank You for our Daily Bread

This is the banana bread box at the Nihiku Rain Jungle Boutique on the island of Maui. If you click on the photo to enlarge, you will be able to read the prayer, "By his hands we are fed, thank you for our daily bread." I remember saying this prayer as a class at school before lunch.

We stopped here on "The Road to Hana" when we were in Maui. We enjoyed excellent banana bread with whole slices of banana and just the right amount of Maui sugar. The bread was well worth the $3 we left under the lava rock. You can see that we left one slice of bread in the box for another passerby. You can click on the breadbox to get a close up view. Can you tell my mouth is watering for banana bread from Maui?

Willing Hands Ready to Serve

My mother Carolyn and my niece Recah, ready to serve dessert when our family gathered in our home last January. Featured is Nana's Chocolate Pudding Pie, a family favorite.
